Australia will play against Pakistan in the third quater final at the Adelaide Oval . Pakistan making an entry only at the last moment while Australia had their place secured after the fifth match. The two teams get set for the riveting clash with eye on semis. World  Cup Head to Head: Both teams have faced each other eight times at World Cup and share the honors with four wins apiece.
Australia has by and large been a pace-oriented attack, Xavier Doherty’s left-arm spin summoned only for the clash against Sri Lanka in the belief that the SCG surface might assist the spinners. It’s almost a given that Doherty will sit on the bench for this game too, with Glenn Maxwell donning the spinning.

Australia’s quicks, left or right, brings a different skill, a different dimension. It's been a really good tournament for the game of cricket . With  a batting unit that includes explosive openers David Warner and Aaron Finch, the incredibly talented Steve Smith, Clarke himself and allrounders Shane Watson and Glenn Maxwell, Australia can be expected to handle the challenge of the Pakistan pace bowlers, led by Wahab Riaz, who has surprised out many batsmen with his pace and skiddy bounce.
Pakistan will have to find a magical batting show to stop Australia from going to the Sydney. The batting has been steadily efficient rather than spectacularly outrageous, and the bowling has been aggressive and relentless, pacy and probing. Pakistan are hopeful and very positive.

I think we've got a bowling line-up which can really go through any team, and a few batters just getting back into form. This is only a matter of just putting a good show on.  Sarfraz Ahmed came in after Nasir Jamshed’s poor run, for the penultimate league game against South Africa, a match Pakistan had to win to stay in the hunt for a quarterfinal place. Sarfraz made 49, Pakistan won the rain-interrupted fixture by 29 runs. In the next game against Ireland, a virtual pre-quarterfinal, Sarfraz made a hundred.
